Shekhawati experience in Mandawa Haveli

If you are on your trip to Jaipur, the lovely capital of Rajasthan, then Mandawa Hotel is a place you should definitely try out. Those who had been here before will choose it happily over again as this hotel has a special charm to it. Mandawa Haveli, as it is known, is a palace built in 18th century by a wealthy Marwari jeweler. Come here to stay in winter and you would know the real charm the place has to offer to you. Don’t forget to soak in the winter sun magic by sitting in the outer courtyard of the Haveli. Entrance is marvelous and makes you feel like a King. The outer walls of the Haveli look heavenly with the flowering trees.
The Haveli has been recently restored and converted into a hotel. The beautiful frescos painted all over the havelis depict the theme of Lord Krishna and scenes from his life. If you are coming here during the festive season, then you will be happy to see the grand decoration that takes place here. During the last year’s Christmas Eve, the Haveli was shining with new celebration mood. An intricate Rangoli design was painted by a local grandmother & grand-daughter team.

The courtyard was lit up and Rajasthani folk music melody filled all the surrounding offering a dream land appeal to it. Sit on the lovely antique furniture lined up in the courtyard and have a look at the rooms named after the various names of Lord Krishna. So, when you visit Shekhawati next time, do visit this restored Haveli to experience the local flavor of Rajasthan.
